With RBV Birkmann there are no tricks - only treats!
Each year on the last day of October, we celebrate Halloween. The ghoulish festival has been growing in popularity for many years and is becoming more and more popular in society. Do you know where Halloween actually comes from? It's not from the USA, as many people would assume.
In fact, Halloween is a European custom, an Irish one to be precise. Many, many years ago, before every church festival, like Christmas or Easter, a celebration or mass was held the night before. This was also the case on the evening before All Saints' Day, which, as is well known, takes place on 1st November. This is where the original name of the holiday comes from: "All Hallows Eve" was shortened over the years and ended up in the now familiar "Halloween". In the 19th century, many Irish citizens emigrated to the States and celebrated Halloween there in memory of their homeland. Since the early 1990s, however, the festival has also returned to Europe. After Carnival was cancelled in Germany in 1991 due to the Gulf War, Halloween became more and more popular as a substitute celebration and eventually became what we know today.
No symbol is better known on Halloween than the pumpkin. Whether as a simple decoration or in carved form - we encounter the pumpkin on almost every corner. In the past, pumpkins were carved with grimaces and grotesque faces, lit with a candle and placed in front of the front door so that the grim lanterns would keep evil away from one's home. These very same creepy grimaces have stood the test of time and have been used more and more over the years.
Nowadays it is impossible to imagine Halloween without grimaces, witches, vampires and many other scary characters. Children and adults go around dressed up and ask for candy at people's front doors - otherwise they get trick-or-treating. You don't have any sweets in the house on Halloween? That doesn't matter, because with a Halloween cookie cutter you can bake scary biscuits in no time at all. RBV Birkmann offers you a wide selection: bake your own lanterns with the pumpkin cookie cutter and decorate them with grimaces, with the ghost cookie cutter or the witch cookie cutter you can easily bake a spooky group of figures. The skull biscuit cutter and the spider are also part of the Halloween biscuit cutters and together they create a nice spooky atmosphere as decoration.
Whether you want to use the Halloween cookie cutters for roaming children or your own Halloween party - the biscuits will definitely be a highlight!
